»Stadtverwaldung statt Stadtverwaltung« Joseph Beuys, 1980
Beuys' work »7000 Eichen – Stadtverwaldung statt Stadtverwaltung« on the occasion of the Dokumenta 7 dates back almost 40 years and marks a clear commitment to the ecology movement of the 1980s. The green city remains mostly an unfulfilled promise to this day, but has gained in importance against the backdrop of climate change. We discuss the state of planning in Düsseldorf and the future potential of forested cities with a group of four actors from architecture, urban planning, art and politics.
Guests: Cornelia Zuschke (Head of Planning Düsseldorf), Prof. Almut Grüntuch-Ernst (IDAS Institute for Design and Architectural Strategy and editor of »Hortitecture -The Power of Architecture and Plants«), Moritz Fiedler (artist and project manager of »Tita Giese Pflanzenprojekte«), Clara Gerlach (Mayor, Die Grünen)
Moderation: Jan Wagner
Afterwards the film »Beuys« will be shown.
